Dewar's Candies is teaming up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to take Tiger Chews national. A Tiger Chew is a Orange Cream flavored taffy that tastes like a 50/50 bar. Dewar's created the Tiger Chew in December 2012 to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through Team Tigerfight. To date Dewar's has produced 2000 pounds of Tiger Chews. By August 2013, 68 of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Chapters throughout the United States and Canada will have the opportunity to purchase and sell Tiger Chews, with proceeds of each pound going directly to their chapter.
Join Team Tigerfight! The Light the Night Walk, one of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s major fundraising campaigns, is a time to pay tribute to those lost and bring hope to people battling blood cancer. Funds raised during the walk support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s efforts to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma and provide education and services for patients and their families in the local community. It’s an evening filled with warmth and emotion, a show of support from a community that cares. Chris Wilson understands the significance firsthand. In 2008, Chris’ 17-month-old son, Ryan, was diagnosed with leukemia. Since Ryan had an aggressive form of leukemia that was notorious for relapse, he was recommended for a bone marrow transplant. Ryan’s twin sister, Lauren, was a perfect match and a transplant was performed in March of 2009. Today, Ryan is considered leukemia free and participating in cancer research activities has become a large part of the Wilson family’s life. Since their first walk in 2009, Team Tigerfight has raised $166,249 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Our efforts will continue until the quest for a cure is found. 2015 Tigerfight Casino Night The 2015 Tigerfight Casino Night was a huge success. It was a night of great food, fantastic music, amazing silent auction items and lively casino games that made our casino night the place to be. More importantly we raised over $55,000 which will go to support local families going through pediatric blood cancer treatment and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and their mission to help blood cancer patients live better, longer lives. It will also go to fund lifesaving blood cancer research and provide free critical information and support services to patients and families. We are blessed to have great sponsors and a supportive community that will stand behind an event like this. We also enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones. It was by far our best event to date and we are looking forward to many more to come. Thank you, Tigerfight Committee Save the date for our 2016 event. SATURDAY, JUNE 11th, 2016
